Questions we get asked
Is it a template with the name changed?
No. The story is written around the family's own story — something that actually happened, or one they would like invented for them — and the illustrations are built from the photos they upload, so the people in the book, and the pets, are recognisably themselves: the same face, the same haircut, the same outfit they were wearing.
Who is it for?
Children, adults and pets. A first birthday, a new sibling, a first day at nursery; an anniversary, a tribute, a gift for a parent, grandparent or teacher; and books in which the family dog or cat is the hero.
What does a reviewer need to do?
Upload one photo of each person or animal who should appear — or one group photo — and tell us the story. The story part is a conversation, not a form; the only form is a name and an age at the start. The digital preview is ready in about ten minutes.
What can it not do?
Books are written in the language the story is told in, as long as it uses the Latin alphabet — English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and more. Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Chinese and Japanese are not yet possible; a story written in those comes back in English. Every character needs a photo — there is no describe-instead path. And a printed copy takes two to four business days to produce before it ships, so it is not a last-minute gift.
