Personalized books for babies that are actually about your baby.
A Whimbel personalized baby book turns a real moment from your baby's life into an illustrated hardcover keepsake, with a story written from your own words and illustrations drawn from a single photo.

Most personalized baby books swap a name into a story that was already written. The child is a placeholder. This is the other thing: you tell us what actually happened — the first bath, the night nobody slept, the way she looks at the dog — and we write and illustrate that. The result is a baby keepsake book that could not belong to anyone else.
You will not remember the details in five years. You think you will. Put one of them in a book while you still have it.

Most of them are one story with a swappable name and a swappable hair colour. Ours starts from a memory you describe, so the story itself is different every time. The illustrations are generated from your photo rather than picked from a set of faces.
One per person in the story. One photo of your baby is enough for a whole book; add a photo each for a sibling, a grandparent or a pet if you want them in it too.
The book is usually made in the first two years, but it is a keepsake rather than a board book — most families read it for years, and plenty of them are made for older children and adults too.
The 2024 policy is clearer than the statistics people quote about it.
What actually gets used — starting with four things the American Academy of Pediatrics calls unsafe in a baby's sleep space.
The WHO ranges rather than single ages, plus the AAP screening schedule.
